Specimen data for Marialite
Tom Mortimer catalog number: 1488
Identification method: Marialite indicated by EDS analysis. EDS analyst stated: "Intermediate Scapolite towards the Marialite end." In the plot, the Ca peak is greater than the Na peak, suggesting the meonite species. However, the sodium (light element) response is greatly attenuated by the EDS instrument, resulting in the assessment that the specimen is more towards the marialite end of the scapolite series.
Notes: Micro titanite crystals are also present on this specimen. This was the only specimen of this species found, dispite a return trip to the exact collecting spot.
